License Types

Licensing determines how you obtain a Brusheezy file and how you can use it later.

Types of Licensing:

1. Standard Licensing - This is our most common license type. This license allows you to use the file for free, but you must modify it to make a material change AND provide attribution.

Our Standard licensed files can be upgraded to Premium licensing with the purchase of credits or a subscription.

2. Premium Licensing - This license allows you to use the file without attribution, because you have paid for it already.* Many of our files have Premium licensing and Standard licensing options.

Our Standard licensed files can be upgraded to Premium licensing with the purchase of credits or a subscription.

You’ll notice some of our files are marked as “Premium” with a green banner. These Premium files can only be downloaded under a Premium License.

* Note: While we encourage users to edit and/or personalize paid files, it is not required.

3. Brusheezy Community Licensing - All images under this license require attribution UNLESS you are a Premium User. (Premium users, or users who have available credits/a subscription with us, have access to these files for free and without attribution requirements.)

While commercial use is allowed, you cannot use this file-type on purchasable items or for redistribution.

Example of how to use a file under Busheezy Community Licensing:
Let’s say you download a duck brush file under the Brusheezy Community license. You could use the duck image on your restaurant website. However, you could not sell merchandise displaying the duck image.

4. Editorial Licensing - Images under this license can only be used to supplement or illustrate newsworthy articles, publications, and current events.

Images under this license cannot be used for personal or private use. Additionally, images under the Editorial license cannot be used commercially, sold, changed, or redistributed. (Only a small percentage of our files fall under this license.)

5. Creative Commons Licensing - Creative Commons Licensing includes a number of varying categories. Each category includes individual artist stipulations for file usage.

All images licensed under Creative Commons require attribution and cannot be purchased. (Only a small percentage of our files fall under this license.)
